This amazing antique Art Deco black silk soutache embroidered opera cloak cape coat dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of a black silk satin fabric, with black silk raised soutache embroidery work and black velvet applique cutwork trim done in a decorative floral vine leaf design. This fabulous flapper evening opera coat dress is loose fitting, has a layered cloak cape back, rounded collar, an attached neck scarf tie sash with fringe ends, sleeveless, with carved black button closures down the front and is fully lined. The coat measures 42 inches long, with 46 inch hips, a 42 inch waist and 40 inch bust. It is in good as-is condition, with a few small frayed splits on the back cape and a small frayed rip on the back skirt (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Art Deco textile art and would be great for study, pattern or design!
