This antique Victorian era red and gold carnation flower watteau train dressing gown robe dress dates from 1890. It is made of red heavy cotton pique ribbed textured fabric, with a gold ribbon carnation flower print pattern design. This beautiful dressing sack back gown robe style tea dress has a box pleated back watteau train falling from the shoulders, long full sleeves with flared ruffle white lace cuffs, an open front skirt and hook closures down the front lined top. The dress measures 48 inches long, with 34 inch hips, a 34 inch waist, 34 inch bust and 19 inch sleeves. It is in good condition, with a mended repair under the arms. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable art inspired by 18th century fashion!
