This antique Victorian era blue and white windowpane cotton peplum blouse bustle skirt dress dates from the 1880s. It is made of a pastel baby blue cotton fabric, with white lace trim done in a checkered windowpane pattern design. This beautiful baby blue two piece summer dress has a long fitted bodice blouse, with peplum skirted bottom, fold over collar, pouter pigeon front dickey panel with hidden pearl button closures underneath and long mutton sleeves with gathered puffed shoulders, tapered cuffs. The bodice measures 27 inches long, with a 22 inch waist, 32 inch bust, 11 inch back and 26 inch long sleeves. There is a matching fabric long floor length full skirt, with a slight bustle back drape and layered ruffled hemline. The skirt measures 45 inches long, with a 22 inch waist. It is in good condition, with only some small faint age spot stains and tiny holes on the skirt (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art! |
