This antique Chinese silk embroidered peony lotus flower sleeve band cuff robe coat dates from 1910 during the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is hand stitched, made of a black silk fabric, with green silk damask brocade ribbon trim edging and chartreuse green silk wide sleeve band cuffs, with bright colorful raised padded satin stitch embroidered butterflies, peony and lotus flowers. This magnificent Manchu style court robe is loose fitting, a long mid length, fully lined, with a mandarin collar neckline, wide full sleeves and a front opening, single silk knotted toggle button closure midway down, with decorative tie hanging down. The robe measures 37 inches long, with 60 inch hips, chest, waist and a 28 inch sleeve cuff circumference. It is in good condition, with the bottom hem inside lining frayed and a small fray on the back collar (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Chinese textile art!
