It is made of a luxurious black silk velvet fabric, with an Art Deco decorative geometric quilted stitching design on the top.

This vintage black velvet quilted long floor length evening coat and cropped jacket dates from the 1940s. It is made of a luxurious black silk velvet fabric, with an Art Deco decorative geometric quilted stitching design on the top. This opulent opera evening coat is very versatile going from a long floor length, with detachable buttons sewn along the waist and creating a short cropped jacket style, two coats in one! It has a lapel collar, long full sleeves, an open front with no closure and is fully lined. The coat measures 55 inches long, with 40 inch hips, a 34 inch waist, 36 inch bust, 14 inch back and 24 inch long sleeves. When separated the shorter cropped jacket measures 15 inches long. It is in good condition. This is truly a unique and wonderful piece of wearable art!
