This antique Victorian era purple plum silk velvet fringe trim belted bodice top dates from the 1870s. It is made of a purple plum color silk taffeta fabric, with a striped velvet fabric front accents and purple & white silk rope fringe trim. This beautiful bodice top, has a high neck collar, long sleeves, a short cropped fitted waist with belted front closure, skirted back drape, silk covered button closures down the front and is fully lined. The bodice measures 14 1/2 inches long in the front, 22 inches long in the back, with a 24 inch waist, 34 inch bust, 12 inch back and 19 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, with only a tiny hole on the sleeve and a small fray on the back neck collar (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of Victoriana wearable art!
