This amazing antique Art Deco black silk, gold lamé, beaded grid evening flapper coat jacket dates from the 1920s. It is made of a black silk fabric, with gold lamé metallic chain stitch embroidery work and black beading done in decorative grid square box pattern design. This fabulous flapper evening opera coat is a long floor length, loose fitting, has an open front with no closure, a fold over lapel collar, long full sleeves with button cuffs and is unlined. The coat measures 44 inches long, with 40 inch hips, a 36 inch waist, 40 inch bust, 16 inch back and 24 inch long sleeves. It is in as-is fair condition, with some staining, tarnish discoloration under the arms and in areas, with several tiny pin holes scattered throughout and a few small frayed holes on the shoulder (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Art Deco textile art which would be great for design! |
