This Edwardian era vintage Washington Co Tailors NY black wool double breasted formal frock coat dates from 1917. It is made of a heavy quality black wool fabric. This gentlemen's dapper dandy formal frock coat is double breasted, a long mid knee length, with a layered black silk satin, velvet fabric wide lapel collar, long full sleeves, button trim vent slit on the back skirt tails and has a fitted tailored back. It is fully lined in black silk, with inside breast pocket, "The Washington Co Tailors New York City" label sewn inside it and there is ink stamped cotton lining inside the sleeves. The coat measures 40 inches long, with a 34 inch waist, 36 inch chest, 14 inch back and 25 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, with a few tiny moth nip holes in between the button front, 3 small re-woven repairs on the sleeve and the lining is loose inside the sleeve. This formal frock coat is a wonderful example of gentlemen's dress!
