This antique Edwardian era black wool velvet lapel trim winter walking suit jacket coat and skirt date from 1910. It is made of a black soft wool fabric, with a dark midnight blue velvet lapel collar, cuffs and button trim. This wonderful two piece winter walking suit includes a tailored fitted suit jacket with button front closures, wide lapel collar, long full sleeves with velvet trim rolled cuffs, cut away front, black & white pin stripe silk lining inside, with a weighted hemline and "J. Stettner Ladies Tailor 287 Kingston Ave. Brooklyn" label. The jacket measures 24 inches long, with 44 inch hips, a 34 inch waist, 36 inch bust, 12 inch back and 21 inch long sleeves. There is a matching fabric long full skirt, unlined with hook closures on the back. The skirt measures 40 inches long, with 46 inch hips and a 30 inch waist. It is in good condition, with a couple of tiny moth nip holes on the skirt and the silk lining inside the jacket has several frayed areas. This is truly an extraordinary piece of wearable antique textile art! |
