This vintage Edwardian Titanic era white linen soutache embroidery work walking suit jacket and skirt dates from 1912. It is made of a white linen fabric, with white soutache, raised padded satin stitch, French knot embroidery work done in a decorative daisy floral vine leaf design. This stunning summer two piece walking suit includes a fitted tailored suit jacket, with an embroidered fold over collar, single crochet covered button closure, long sleeves and is unlined. The jacket measures 26 inches long, with 42 inch hips, a 40 inch waist, 38 inch bust, 13 inch back and 20 inch long sleeves. There is a matching embroidered linen fabric long floor length full skirt, missing the waistband and has side snaps, hooks closures. The skirt measures 35 inches long, with 50 inch hips and a 40 inch waist. It is in good condition, with only a tiny faint age spot stain and hole on the back skirt, a frayed collar and missing skirt waistband (see close-ups). This is a wonderful piece of antique wearable textile art!
