This vintage Edwardian era embroidered polka dot cream net lace wedding dress, blouse and skirt dates from 1905. It is made of an off white cream color sheer net fabric with embroidered polka dots, flowers and scalloped edging. There are lace trim applique inserts and an ivory white silk velvet sash knotted trim accent hanging down the shoulders. This beautiful bridal two piece wedding dress includes a bodice blouse with a pouter pigeon front, 3/4 length sleeves with fitted cuffs, a fitted waist with peplum skirted silk front, hook closures along the front side opening and is fully lined in silk with a camisole top, stays boning sewn inside. The top measures 15 inches long, with a 24 inch waist, 34 inch bust and 12 inch back. There is matching fabric, long floor length full skirt, with gathered back drape, hook closures and is fully lined with a silk petticoat sewn inside and bottom ruffle hem. The skirt measures 43 inches long, with a 22 inch waist. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned, with several small faint age spot stains and underarm discoloration with fraying on the inside silk lining (see close-up). This lovely lace wedding dress is truly a wonderful piece of wearable antique bridal textile art! |
