It is made of a black sheer cotton fabric, with white raised stitching soutache embroidery work done in a paisley boteh tear drop and polka dot design.

This vintage black and white cotton embroidered stitching paisley boteh belted swing dress dates from the late 1930s. It is made of a black sheer cotton fabric, with white raised stitching soutache embroidery work done in a paisley boteh tear drop and polka dot design. This stunning swing day dress has a V front neckline, with button closures down the front, slight shoulder padding, short sleeves, a matching fabric belt with adjustable buckle closure, side zipper closure and is sheer, unlined. The belt is stamped inside "Original Francine New York" size 18 1/2 and 36. The dress measures 40 inches long, with 40 inch hips, a 32 inch waist, 40 inch bust and 16 inch back. It is in good condition, has not been cleaned, with only a few small faint age spot stains and some fraying on the fabric covered button front (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable art!
