This antique Victorian era gentleman's cream wool embroidered wedding waistcoat vest dates from the 1840s. It is hand stitched and made of an off white cream color fine wool fabric, with silk raised padded satin stitch and French knot hand embroidery work of flower vine leaf designs. There is a linen fabric backing, with a V bottom, an adjustable brass buckle strap and tie strap above on the back and is fully lined inside with a padded front, leather trim along the bottom. This dapper gentlemen's wedding waistcoat vest has a embroidered fold cover collar lapel, three front slit pockets and fancy gold rhinestone set buttons with shank, brass fasteners for attaching on back down the front. The vest measures 20 inches long, with a 32 inch waist and 36 inch chest. It is in good condition, has not been cleaned, with some age spot stains on the back, a small hole on the bottom front, fraying of the inside leather trim and is missing 1 button, 2 rhinestones (see close-ups). This is truly a rare and exceptional quality made men's early Victorian vest!
