This vintage Crinoline Maid Edwardian era white net lace ruffle shawl collar dress dates from 1918. It is made of a sheer fine white net, with pleating, ruffles and lace trim edging. There is a blue velvet ribbon trim around the neckline and hanging down the front with pink silk rosette flowers. This lovely lace long dress is a tea length, has a large shawl collar capelet, with ruffle trim edging, handkerchief trim flirty short sleeves, a fitted waist, side snap closures and is double net lined, with a built in lace trimmed camisole lining the top. There is "The Crinoline Maid Bryn Mawr Brand" label sewn inside the inner waistband. The dress measures 51 inches long, with 34 inch hips, a 25 inch waist and 34 inch bust. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned with some slight faint yellowing discoloration on the back collar and a few tiny pin holes in the net fabric. This is truly a wonderful piece of antique textile lace art which could be worn as a wedding gown! |
