This antique Victorian era mourning black silk damask brocade gigot mutton sleeve shirt bodice top dates from the 1890s. It is made of a black silk brocade floral pattern damask fabric. This beautiful bodice mourning shirt top, has a band collar, large long leg of mutton gigot style sleeves with a pouf top tapering down, a fitted waist, open front with cotton lining insert and hook closures. It is fully lined with quality construction detail, 12 stays boning sewn inside. The bodice measures 16 inches long, with a 28 inch waist, 34 inch bust, 10 inch back and 22 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, with only a small fray on the top of each sleeve (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of Victoriana wearable art!
