This antique Regency Georgian era blue and white stripe silk puff sleeve girls dress dates from 1810-1820. It is hand stitched, made of a light periwinkle blue and white striped fine silk fabric. This gorgeous Georgian girls gown would have been worn by a young lady and has a high empire waist with gathered stitching which would have had drawstring closures around it and the neckline, puff balloon shape gigot sleeves and a ruffle bottom hem skirt. It has been altered during the late 19th century with an added Victorian era white cotton batiste lace slip dress sewn inside as a lining and attached on the top, with hook closures down the back. The dress measures 41 inches long, with 50 inch hips, a 45 inch waist, 36 inch bust and 12 inch back. It is in good condition, with only a few small faint stains on the dress sleeve and slight underarm discoloration. The inside dress lining has several age spot stains. This is truly a rare and early piece of Georgian era textile art!
