This vintage cream silk embroidered piano shawl fringe lace trim flapper wedding dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white cream color silk fabric, with white raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work floral vine leaf designs, macrame fringe trim and tambour embroidery lace net sleeves. This beautiful bridal wedding gown flapper dress is loose fitting, has a draping shawl style collar capelet, flared wide batwing sleeves, lined inside the top with hook closures and outer shoulder snap closures. It was created from an antique finely embroidered Canton Chinese piano shawl fabric. The dress measures 47 inches long, with 44 inch hips, a 40 inch waist and 42 inch bust. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned, with small faint stains on the top and a name written inside the back neck in black ink (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable antique textile art!
