This antique Spanish matador bullfighter bolero jacket, knickers red velvet two piece costume dates from the 1920s. It is hand stitched made of a dark burgundy red silk velvet fabric, with silver metallic lamé sequin trim and silver beaded ball fringe trim accents. This magnificent matador Spanish toreadors bullfighters costume includes a bolero cropped ceremonial jacket, with epaulette ornamental shoulder piece decorations, long full sleeves, an attached inner vest style top with hidden button closures, an open front jacket and linen quilted padding inside with remnants of a green silk lining. The jacket measures 18 inches long, with a 44 inch waist, 40 inch chest, 16 inch back and 25 inch long sleeves. Included is a pair of knee length knickers pants, made with matching fabric and silver side trim accents, an adjustable buckle strap back waist and button fly front closure. The pants measure 28 inches long, with a 17 inch inseam, 42 inch hips and a 34 inch waist. It is in good condition, with only the green silk lining frayed and missing inside the jacket. This is truly a rare and opulent piece of wearable Spanish inspired textile art! |
