This vintage Edwardian era white net princess tape lace appliqué embroidered blouse dates from 1915. It is made of a white sheer fine net princess lace fabric, with tambour chain stitch embroidery, tape lace appliqué work done in a floral vine leaf, scalloped, polka dot design done primarily on the shirt back and sleeves. This lovely lace middy style blouse has a V front neckline, with snap closures down the front, long sleeves, a batiste lawn fabric skirted bottom and is sheer, unlined. The top measures 16 inches long, with a 28 inch waist, 38 inch bust, 16 inch back and 22 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, with only a few small frays breaks in the lace appliqué work on the back (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable lace art! |
