It is hand stitched, made of a red silk velvet fabric, with gold rope soutache embroidery work decorative trim edging.

It is hand stitched, made of a red silk velvet fabric, with gold rope soutache embroidery work decorative trim edging. This handsome men's Spanish regional folk costume Spencer style waistcoat sleeveless short bolero crop top vest has 3 velvet buttons at the bottom for closure, front slit pockets, flared drape tail back bottom with gold button trim and lined in a homespun linen fabric. The vest measures 11 inches long, with a 24 inch waist and 28 inch chest. It has wonderful workmanship and hand done details. The vest is in good condition and is a museum deaccession with "Spanish Waistcoat" written inside in ink (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful rare piece of wearable Spanish textile folk art!
