This vintage cream battenburg needle lace wedding gown dress and silk slip dates from the 1920s, perhaps reworked from an earlier Edwardian era dress. It is made of an off white cream color sheer needle made button hole stitches, with outlining cordonnets, connecting brides and bars, creating floral, leaf, scroll work decorative designs. This lovely lace loose fitting shift style bridal wedding gown dress is a long floor length, with short cap flared bell shape sleeves, low rounded scoop necklines and is sheer unlined. The dress measures 57 inches long, with 48 inch hips, a 40 inch waist and 40 inch bust. Included is a cream color silk chemise shift style slip with decorative stitching appliqué work on the front neckline and a side gathering drape skirt. The slip measures 53 inches long, with 46 inch hips, a 38 waist and 38 inch bust. The dress is in good condition, with only a few small mended repairs, breaks in the connecting brides and bars (see close-ups). This is truly an amazingly beautiful piece of wearable lace art!
