It is made of a faded blue cotton fabric, stuffed with horse hair, quilted with silver metal grommets creating a puffed pillow crescent shaped bustle pad extender.

It is made of a faded blue cotton fabric, stuffed with horse hair, quilted with silver metal grommets creating a puffed pillow crescent shaped bustle pad extender. There is a linen cloth strap waistband belt with adjustable tie front closure. This unique undergarment would have been worn under a bustle skirt dress to expand the fullness or support the back drape of the fanned train skirt. There is a "Grommet Bustle Style B Size 1" label sewn inside. The bustle pad is a large size measuring 15 1/2 inches wide, 8 1/2 inches long, with a 53 inch adjustable waist tie.
