It is made of a white heavy quality cotton fabric, with a broderie anglaise eyelet embroidery cutwork whitework lace scalloped bottom ruffle hemline and cream silk ribbon bow trim woven through it.

This antique Victorian era white cotton broderie anglaise eyelet embroidery cutwork lace petticoat skirt dates from 1880. It is made of a white heavy quality cotton fabric, with a broderie anglaise eyelet embroidery cutwork whitework lace scalloped bottom ruffle hemline and cream silk ribbon bow trim woven through it. This pretty petticoat skirt has a flared full style, with fitted waistband, mother of pearl button closure on the back and layered bottom ruffle. The petticoat measures 40 inches long, with a 25 inch waist and is 150 inches in circumference at the bottom. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned, with only a few faint small yellowing age spot stains (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art!
