This amazing Art Deco vintage Antoinette Hagen label gold lamé blue bird beaded belted velvet flapper dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of a gold metallic lamé fabric top, with raised soutache embroidery work, blue beading done in a floral bird design and a blue silk velvet slip style underdress. This fabulous flapper style two piece dress has a loose fitting, sleeveless, tunic top, with beaded blue birds, a V front neckline, belted sash with button closure and removed separate long sleeves with matching beaded cuffs snap closures. The top measures 26 inches long, with a 42 inch waist, 40 inch bust and 22 inch long sleeves. Included is a slip style, loose fitting drop waist dress with a cream silk sleeveless top and blue velvet skirt with smocking tucks gathering around the waist. There is a "Antoinette Hagen Paris, New York, Los Angeles" label sewn inside. The dress measures 41 inches long, with 40 inch hips, a 40 inch waist and 40 inch bust. It is in good, as-is condition, with some slight tarnish discoloration in areas on the lamé fabric and the sleeves need reattaching. The dress needs some minor restoration. This is truly a rare and exceptional piece of Art Deco wearable textile art!
