It is made of a black heavy plush velvet fabric, with jet beading done in decorative designs and black mohair Angora goat curly fur trim edging around the collar and down the front opening.

This antique Victorian era black velvet jet beaded mohair trim winter cloak cape mantle dates from 1880. It is made of a black heavy plush velvet fabric, with jet beading done in decorative designs and black mohair Angora goat curly fur trim edging around the collar and down the front opening. This wonderful winter mantle cloak cape has a large collar which can be worn up or folded down, a flared full swing bottom, fully lined in a quilted silk fabric for warmth and hook closure at the neck. The cape measures 20 inches long and 106 inches in circumference around the bottom. It is in good condition, with only some wear along the velvet nap and is missing 3 inches of mohair trim on the collar edging (see close-up). This is a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana winter mourning wearablee art!
