This antique Victorian era black silk damask brocade jet beaded trim mourning cloak cape capelet dates from 1880. It is made of a black silk damask weave brocade fabric with a woven abstract leaf pattern design and black jet beaded trim appliques sewn around the neckline. This stunning short cropped cloak cape capelet dolman mantle has a high neck band collar with hook closure, an attached beaded collar trim and is fully lined inside. The cape measures 15 inches long and 107 inches bottom circumference. It is in good, with only some fraying along the collar and some missing loose beadwork in areas (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana mourning wearable art!
