This antique Edwardian Titanic era white cotton broderie anglaise eyelet embroidery cutwork lace skirt dates from 1912. It is made of a sheer white cotton batiste fabric, with a broderie anglaise eyelet embroidery cutwork whitework lace floral vine leaf motif completely covering the entire fabric. This lovely lace skirt is a long floor length, with layered tiered peplum overskirt, scalloped hem edging, a sheer eyelet front panel trim, fitted waistband, snap closures down the front and is sheer, unlined. The skirt measures 35 inches long, with a 28 inch waist and 44 inch hips. It is in good condition, with only a tiny frayed hole on the back (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique whitework wearable art! |
