This Edwardian era Belle Epoque antique cream embroidered net lace beaded rosette dress dates from 1915. It is made of an off white cream color sheer net, lace fabric, with raised padded satin stitch embroidery work, tiny pink beads, silver sequin beaded accents on the top and silk rosette ribbon work trim around the neckline, sleeve cuffs. This lovely lace dress is a long tea length, with a layered tiered peplum over skirt, silk lining underneath, 3/4 length sleeves, hook closures down the back and is lined in sheer net on top. There is an "A. A. Hudson Buffalo, N.Y." label sewn inside the waistband. The dress measures 50 inches long, with 40 inch hips, a 26 inch waist and 40 inch bust. It is in delicate fair as-is condition, with several small frayed areas on the lace top near the neckline, some slight faint discoloration staining and fraying along the silk rosette ribbon trim (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique textile lace art which would be great for design or restoration! |
