This antique Victorian Civil War era brown silk taffeta hoop skirt dress and velvet bow belt sash dates from the 1860s. It is made of a chocolate brown color silk taffeta fabric, with brown velvet trim edging. This beautiful brown gown has a long floor length very full hoop skirt (hoop not included), with fitted bodice, long sleeves, a white cotton batiste broderie anglaise eyelet embroidery cutwork lace collar, silk covered button front closure and is fully lined. The dress measures 57 inches long, with a 26 inch waist, 34 inch bust and 19 inch long sleeves. Included is a matching fabric belted bow sash with apron back drape, hook closure front waistband and has a 24 inch waist. The two piece outfit is in good condition, with only some slight underarm discoloration and two small frayed holes on the side skirt near the bottom (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art!
