It is made of a pink and white cotton checkered gingham fabric, with white eyelet embroidery cutwork lace trim edging the neckline and sleeves.

This vintage Designed by Jax pink and white cotton check gingham lace circle skirt dress dates from the late 1950s. It is made of a pink and white cotton checkered gingham fabric, with white eyelet embroidery cutwork lace trim edging the neckline and sleeves. This pretty pink sun dress resembles the one worn and made popular by Brigitte Bardot when she wed actor Jacques Charrier in the summer of 1959 and was widely copied. It has scoop necklines edged in white lace, sleeveless with lace trim shoulder straps, pleated back, a full circle skirt, button front top closure and is unlined. There is a "designed by Jax" label sewn inside. The dress measures 39 inches long, with a 24 inch waist and 32 inch bust. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable art!
