Victorian Brown White Chevron Striped Wool Walking Suit Jacket Bodice Skirt
This antique Victorian era brown and white chevron striped wool walking suit jacket and skirt dates from 1900. It is made of an off white, tan, brown and blue chevron striped fine wool fabric, with gold metal arrow point shape accent trim sewn on the top. This stunning striped two piece walking suit includes a short bolero bodice jacket top, with an epaulette style shoulder piece strap, collar overlay, 3/4 length full puffy sleeves, scalloped eyelet lace cuffs, brown piping trim, hook closures down the front and remnants of the silk lining which has been removed. The top measures 19 inches long, with a 26 inch waist and 36 inch bust. There is a matching fabric long floor length full skirt, with a pleated waist, back hook closures and is unlined. The skirt measures 41 inches long, with 44 inch hips and a 24 inch waist. It is in good as-is condition, with some tiny moth nip holes, reinforced patched repairs done inside and the original silk lining is shattered and has been removed. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable antique Victoriana textile art!
