This antique Edwardian era gray and white striped paisley trim summer walking suit jacket and skirt dates from 1905. It is made of a gray and off white cream color striped fine wool fabric, with silk paisley ribbon trim edging and gold button accents on the top. This stunning striped two piece light weight summer walking suit includes a short bolero bodice jacket top, with open front, an inner dickey style front insert hook closures, fold over collar, gathered pleated shoulders, short puffy sleeves with rolled cuffs and is fully lined. The top measures 14 inches long, with a 26 inch waist and 34 inch bust. There is a matching fabric long floor length full skirt, with a high waist V top which has stays, boning sewn inside, gold buttons accents on front, back hook closures and is unlined. The skirt measures 40 inches long, with 38 inch hips and a 22 inch waist. It is in excellent condition, with only 1 button missing off the front waist. This is truly a rare wonderful piece of wearable antique textile art! |
