This vintage S. Nishimura Kyoto Japan pink silk screen cherry blossom Japanese kimono dates from the 1920s. It is made of a pale pink pastel silk ombre fabric, with colorful silk screen flowers, cherry blossoms and Japanese maple leaf design motif. This fabulous formal furisode Japanese style kimono would have been worn by an unmarried woman. It has long swinging sleeves, an open front with no closure and is fully lined, with an "S. Nishimura Furumonzen, Kyoto Made in Japan" label sewn inside. The kimono measures 56 inches long, with 31 inch long kimono sleeves, a 50 inch bust, waist and hips. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned, with a some small faint stains on the front top and bottom skirt. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable antique Japanese textile art! |
