This vintage robe de style white silk embroidered piano shawl lace wedding dress dates from 1920. It is made of an ivory white color silk fabric, with raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work done in a floral rose vine leaf pattern design and a sheer fine cobweb lace fabric. It was created from an antique finely embroidered Canton Chinese piano shawl fabric. This beautiful bridal wedding dress has a robe de style, with wired trim top lace side skirt pannier panels which come to a point, a layered lace covered top with short sleeves, epaulettes shoulder trim, a lace modesty panel insert neckline, wide embroidered cummerbund waist, skirt and hooks, snap closures on the front. It is fully lined and has an "E.A. Robertson Co." label sewn inside the waistband. The dress measures 47 inches long, with a 30 inch waist and 36 inch bust. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned and has a small faint age spot stain on the lace side skirt panel with a few small frayed holes. This is truly a rare and unique piece of wearable bridal wedding textile art!
