This antique Victorian era red silk black and white striped pleated bodice blouse dates from 1890. It is made of a radiant red color silk satin fabric with a black and white striped pattern, pleated gathering. This beautiful bodice blouse has a high neck band fold over collar, gathered shoulders, long full tapered sleeves coming to a point at the cuffs, a fitted waistband, pouter pigeon front, hook closures with hidden inner bodice down the front and is fully lined with stays, boning inside. The bodice measures 16 inches long, with a 22 inch waist, 30 inch bust, 22 inch long sleeves and 12 inch neck. It is in fair as-is condition, with several small frayed splits in the silk scattered along the shoulders and sleeves (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of Victoriana textile art which would be great for display or design!
