This antique Edwardian era women's white linen double breasted motoring driving duster coat dates from 1910. It is made of a white heavy quality linen fabric, with large mother of pearl buttons. This wonderful women's double breasted duster motoring coat is loose fitting, a long floor length, with a kick pleat slit back skirt, fold over wide lapel collar, three front flap pockets, gathered shoulders, long full sleeves with buttoned rolled cuffs, mother of pearl buttons on the back for decoration and down the front for closure and is unlined. The coat measures 49 inches long, with 40 inch hips, a 38 inch waist, 40 inch bust and 24 inch long sleeves. This coat would have been worn to protect ones clothing from the dust and mud when traveling, riding and driving in a motor car. It is in good as-is condition, has not been cleaned with some faint discoloration and stains. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable outerwear textile art! |
