This vintage Art Deco buckle belted black silk and Chantilly lace flapper dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of a sheer black silk fishnet lace fabric with a floral pattern and a fine black Chantilly lace trim edging down the top front opening and sleeve cuffs. This fabulous flapper dress has an open front low V neckline, with black silk slip lining inside which has black Chantilly lace trim edging along the top and bottom, a lace belt with Art Deco style rhinestone buckle clasp at the waist, long tapered sleeveless with flared gauntlet cuffs, an uneven handkerchief skirt hemline and snap closures along the side of the slip. The dress measures 46 inches long, with a 34 inch waist, 36 inch bust and 26 inch long sleeves. It is in good as-is condition, with a small frayed hole under one arm and the buckle clasp is missing some rhinestones including 2 larger stones in the center (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Art Deco textile art! |
