Vintage Grecian Goddess Figural Women Embroidered Net Lace Dress Skirt Fabric
This vintage Grecian Goddess figural embroidered net lace dress skirt fabric dates from the 1920s. It is made of a off white cream color sheer net tulle fabric, with finely done embroidery work of beautiful Grecian Goddess women posing and highlighted on a sheer black net background. There are embroidered floral garland bows and flower basket pedestal designs. This fabulous fabric was perhaps a dress which has since been cut apart and what remains are a pair of sleeves each with a women embroidered near the snap closure cuff and a wide short skirt panel with scalloped lace bottom hem. There are 12 Grecian Goddess figures on the panel, each measure 9 1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide. The fabric skirt panel measures 62 inches wide and 25 inches long. The sleeves each measure 22 inches long and have an 8 inch arm circumference. It is in fair as-is condition, with a few faint age spots stains, small holes in the net fabric and an uneven cut side edge. This is truly a rare and exquisite piece of antique lace art which would be great for design inspiration!
