This exquisite antique Edwardian era blue batiste lace dress handkerchief sleeve blouse and skirt train dates from 1910. It is made of a pale blue sheer fine cotton batiste fabric, with blue lace trim inserts. This stunning summertime two piece gown has a pouter pigeon puffed front billowing blouse top, fitted waist, long full sleeves with handkerchief draping dramatic cuffs, a high lace front neckline, button closures down the back and is sheer, unlined. The top measures 18 inches long, with a 22 inch waist, 38 inch bust and 19 inch long sleeves, with additional 14 inch long cuffs. There is a matching lace trim long floor length full skirt with long back train, ruffle lined hemline, fitted waistband with back hook closures and is sheer, unlined. The skirt measures 40 inches long in the front, 55 inches long in the back and a 23 inch waist. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned, with only a few faint small stains on the skirt. This is truly an extraordinary piece of wearable antique lace textile art which would make a wonderful wedding gown! |
