This vintage Victorian era cream cotton batiste embroidery appliqué lace lawn dress tea gown dates from 1900. It is made of a sheer off white cream color cotton batiste lawn fabric, with a white raised padded satin stitch embroidery whitework done in a floral design, with lace trim inserts and floral appliques. This lovely lace lawn dress tea gown is a long floor length with a high empire waist, draping sash belted back, lace trim yoke neckline, gathered shoulders with 3/4 length sleeves, hook closures down the back and is fully lined with petticoat slip skirt and stays boning inside the bodice waist area. The dress measures 55 inches long, with a 26 inch waist, 34 inch bust and 14 inch long sleeves. It is in fair as-is condition, needing some minor restoration, has not been cleaned with slight faint yellowing staining in areas, a mended repair on the back top and some small frayed holes along the shoulders (see close-up). Great for design! This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable antique lace art which could be worn as a wedding or graduation dress! |
