This antique Victorian era white cotton French towell terry cloth double breasted waistcoat vest dates from the 1860s. It is made of a white French terry cloth cotton towelling fabric with warp knitted loops. There is a white cotton fabric backing, with an adjustable metal buckle, strap on the lower back. It is fully lined with removable cotton batting padding inside the front chest area and inside pockets. This unusual dapper gentleman's waistcoat vest is double breasted with mother of pearl button closures, a fold over lapel collar, three front slit pockets and is fully lined. The vest measures 18 inches long, with a 28 inch waist and 36 inch chest. It is in good condition, with only a small age spot stain on the front and a few faint rust stains on the back strap (see close-ups). This is truly a rare and unique men's early Victorian vest!
