It is made of a black silk grosgrain ribbed textured fabric, completely covered with jet beading and beaded ball fringe trim along the shoulders and bottom ends. This beautiful beaded cape mourning mantle has a beaded high band collar with hook closures down the front, broad shoulders with silk ribbon and ball fringe trim, open sides with ribbon arm straps underneath, long lappet ends with beaded fringe trim on both the front and back and is fully lined inside. The cape measures 19 inches long, 16 inches wide across the back shoulders, with a 12 inch neck. It is in good condition, with only a few loose missing beads and ball fringe trim. This is truly an amazing piece of antique Victoriana mourning wearable beaded art!
