|
This vintage Art Deco silk print top black jersey knit pinafore dress and beaded belt dates from the 1920s. It is made of a grayish brown taupe color silk fabric top with an abstract Art Deco pixelated geometric design print and a black ribbed textured heavy jersey knit fabric pinafore. There is a beautifully beaded colorful belt trim with a painted carved wooden center medallion of a picturesque home. This unique style one piece drop waist dress has an attached pinafore overdress with a loose fitting, wide panel sides, flared skirt, belted waistband with beaded front trim, short sleeves, a squared neckline and is unlined. The dress measures 46 inches long, with a 40 inch bust and 34 inch waist. It is in fair as-is condition, with several frayed splits on the silk top along the shoulders, underarms, tiny holes on the back top and staining discoloration on the back and underarms (see close-ups). The pinafore overdress and beaded trim belt both appear to be in good usable condition. This is truly a rare and unique piece of wearable art which would be great for design inspiration! |
