This vintage Edwardian Titanic era pleated pink silk crepe polka dot braided bobbin lace dress dates from 1912. It is made of a dusty rose pink color silk crepe de chine fabric with a polka dot damask weave pattern, very fine pleating, an off white cream color braided bobbin lace with leaves yoke, dickey front insert and cuffs. This pretty pink dress has a fitted hobble skirt style, with button trim accents, tiny hand painted pink porcelain round buttons decorating the front top with hidden hook closures underneath, snap closures on the front side skirt, 3/4 length sleeves with rolled cuffs, a fitted waist with attached sash tie belt and is unlined. The dress measures 50 inches long, with a 30 inch bust, 22 inch waist and 28 inch hips. It is in good condition, with only a small faint stain on the lace top. This is truly a wonderful quality made piece of wearable art! |
