This antique robe de style yellow cream silk rosette ribbon lace pannier hoop dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of a pale yellow cream color silk chiffon fabric, with a fine sheer white lace ruffle trim done in a floral garland bow pattern. There are cream silk ribbon streamers, rosette flowers and belted waist trim skirt. This lovely lace dress has a robe de style which was a romantic alternative to the chemise dress popular in the 1920s. It has a drop waist style with pannier skirt hip extenders sewn underneath creating a low and wide flared hips style, a layered lace ruffle skirt, lace short cap sleeves and is fully lined in an off white cotton fabric. The dress measures 44 inches long, with a 36 inch bust and 32 inch waist. It is in good as-is condition, with a few tiny holes on the lace sleeves and a small fray along the shoulder. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable textile art which could be worn as a bridal wedding dress!
