This vintage Edwardian Titanic era olive green silk polka dot print soutache trim pinafore dress dates from 1912. It is made of a green and white silk fabric with a polka dot scrolling print top and olive green color fine silk fabric overlay, skirt. There is green silk soutache braided trim accents on the top. This gorgeous green dress has a layered pinafore apron style overdress top, with an added cream lace flounce ruff collar trim, silk covered button trim accents down the front and hook closures hidden underneath, long sleeves with soutache trim cuffs, a pleated silk long floor length skirt and is unlined. The dress measures 53 inches long, with a 36 inch bust and 26 inch waist. It is in fair as-is condition needing restoration, redesign and would be great for design, pattern or display. The solid green silk fabric is weak, frayed and shattering in areas, with some discoloration. The print silk fabric is in better condition with no splits and would be great for parts and pieces. The lace collar trim has some stains and splits. This is truly a wonderful piece of Titanic era fashion! |
