This antique Victorian era khaki brown silk wool grosgrain bustle gown hoop skirt dress dates from 1870. It is made of a light yellowish brown beige khaki color silk wool blend grosgrain corded fabric with a ribbed texture. This gorgeous gown 3 piece travel visiting dress has a fitted bodice, with peplum skirted bottom, petal back drape with button trim accents, long full sleeves with flared pagoda bell shape cuffs, brass hook closures down the front and is fully lined. The bodice measures 21 inches long, with a 32 inch bust, 22 inch waist and 18 inch long sleeves. There is a long floor length full hoop skirt (hoop not included underneath), with back train, side slit pockets, front hook closures and is fully lined. The skirt measures 44 inches long in the front, 54 inches long in the back, with a 22 inch waist. There is a matching fabric shorter layered overskirt with bustle back pouf drape and hook closure on back. The overskirt measures 34 inches long, with a 22 inch waist. It is in fair as-is condition, not cleaned, with several water stains scattered throughout and fabric discoloration in areas and some slight fraying under the arms and on the bottom back skirt train hem (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana textile art which would be great for design, display or restoration!
