This antique Edwardian Titanic era plum purple gold embroidered evening gown dress dates from 1912. It is made of a plum purple color velveteen fabric and sheer silk chiffon fabric, with gold metallic thread, purple silk embroidery work trim on the top and decorative gold button trim accents. This pretty purple gown has a layered, draped style, with a wrap top neckline, gold embroidered epaulettes trim shoulders, long sheer sleeves with button trim cuffs, peplum panel side drape overlay, a replaced bright purple nylon rayon taffeta fabric purple underskirt, snap closures along the front side and is lined inside the top only with hook closures down the front. The dress measures 51 inches long, with a 36 inch bust, 26 inch waist and 25 inch sleeves. It is in good as-is condition needing only some minor restoration, with discoloration staining on the inside lining, a few small holes on the sleeves and frayed underarms (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Titanic era wearable art, great for design or display! |
