This vintage black silk crepe sheer pleated balloon sleeve cocktail dress evening gown dates from the 1940s. It is made of a black silk crepe de chine fabric, with a black sheer chiffon pleated top. This beautiful black cocktail dress evening gown is a long floor length, with a sheer see through top with smocking details, sheer long pleated full balloon bishop style sleeves with fitted cuffs, decorative cut glass button trim on the front top with hidden snap closures underneath and along the side. The dress measures 60 inches long, with a 40 inch bust, 26 inch waist, 40 inch hips and 28 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, with only a tiny hole on the back top and a few mystery snaps which I am not sure what originally attached to it, perhaps a shawl collar or cape? This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable art!
