This antique Victorian era black silk damask embroidered lace appliqué bodice skirt train dress dates from 1900. It is made of a black silk damask weave fabric with a woven ornament ball design and black sheer net mesh drawn cutwork lace inserts on the sleeves and bottom skirt. There are black silk embroidered lace appliqué trimmings and blue silk chiffon backing on the bodice. This beautiful black silk lace two piece dress has a bodice blouse top with a pouter pigeon front, high neck collar, long full tapered sleeves with layered tiered ruched gathering along the top, an attached black silk sash belted waist, snaps, hook closures on the front and is fully lined with stays boning sewn inside. The bodice measures 17 inches long, with a 36 inch bust, 26 inch waist, 22 inch long sleeves and a 12 inch neck. There is a matching fabric, long floor length skirt, with slight train back, hook closure on the back and is fully lined. The skirt measures 40 inches long in the front, 50 inches long in the back, with a 26 inch waist. It is in good condition, with only some fraying splits on the inside silk lining the sleeves and skirt. It is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art! $300 |
